You don't need to deinstall Wordfast Classic. When you install a new version it just overlaps the old one.

And what is the correct URL for the Wordfast site plse? When I try to download WFC from [url removed] and wrodfast.com it says "site not available".

When I press ALT+DOWN, WFC 7.21 opens a new blank Word document instead of opening a source and target TU as it used to.

I have tried the "Remove Wordfast" option inside WF to reinstall it, but it doesn't remove WFC.

I have desintalled and reinstalled Office 365, but the problem persists.

When I opened Office the first time after reinstalling it I got the message "VBA macros disabled in this project".

The Trust Center settings that are ticked are:
-Disable all macros except digitally signed ones
-Trust access to the VBA project object model

I can't download WFC again because when I click the download WFC button at [url removed] , I get the message "site cannot be reached".

And [url removed] is also giving me the message "site cannot be reached".

Would really appreciate help as I do not know where to turn to in absence of the old Wordfast Yahoo support group.

Hi there,

A couple of things:
the link to wordfast.com you pasted in the thread does not work because there are unwanted characters in it. It shows up in browser as: [url removed] [url removed] .com%2C/ (I added the spaces)
Once you remove the unwanted characters, target site is perfectly fine.
That's what makes me think of a keyboard issue. You didn't specify your OS so I'll assume you're on Win 10. Check the languages at the bottom right for keyboard input, sometimes, because of accidental typos, a shortcut activates a change of input layout in Windows.

If the problem is more serious, if you are a paying customer, go to your wordfast.net account and contact the hotline. They are very helpful and knowledgeable.

Thank you both. Problem was solved by configuring a DNS in my PC (Wi-Fi and Enet interfaces). It seems for some reason wordfast.net had not propagated to whatever DNS my provider uses. Tks again for taking the trouble to reply.

I'm having trouble logging into WFA. When I first try to log in, a message appears saying that the captcha verification failed. When I try again, the page just keeps loading. I've tried different browsers, cleaning my cache, but nothing seems to work. Anyone else having this problem? I have a deadline and am in a bit of a hurry.

Other users reported that they have contacted WF and WF Is working on it since this morning. Let’s hope a fix is coming soon.

We were alerted about a login captcha problem around 1 am CET last night. Due to holidays and timing, we were unable to restore service as quickly as we would have hoped to. In light of this event, we are working on improving our contingency processes. Sorry for the prolonged inaccessibility and inconvenience this may have caused some of you.

I've just updated to WFP 5.17.0 and none of my WPF 5.16 TMs are recognised. So, I used Create TM to import the ones I need for my current project and that seemed to work. However, when I opened my project it disconnected all of the TMs.

I tried opening a previous project and both glossaries and TMs are inaccessible and can't be loaded, though the tmxl project file can be opened. I've had no answer yet from the Wordfast Hotline. I also tried sending feedback via the app, with app files and as it was sending, the text of what I had typed in the feedback field disappeared. I tried again and as the feedback field text disappeared again, I clicked "Cancel", and it stopped, but it told me my feedback had been sent. So, their feedback isn't working.

I checked the Wordfast website to see if I could reinstall the WFP 5.16, but there was no choice of version to install. Does anyone have installation files for 5.16? Would they work?

Though I had switched Avast off while I updated and added Wordfast Pro to my list of accepted programs in Avast, there was something called JDK Platform binary that was blocked by Avast as malware and that was what stopped the TMs and glossaries being recognised. So, I’ve now added that to allowed programs, which seems to have worked.

It would be useful if Wordfast checked components of its programs with Avast and similar anti-virus programs before release, or at least if you warned people downloading updates that this sort of thing could happen and how to check for it. I’d never have guessed that JDK Platform binary had anything whatsoever to do with Wordfast and was lucky to, almost accidentally, find that it did.

Another suggestion: Wordfast can now import SDL packages, which I’ve never done, but it can’t import Trados .sdltm TMs. So, I’ve had to ask the agency to convert the TM they sent me, which is the sort of thing that won’t improve their willingness to work with translators who use Wordfast.

Thanks for the link. As I have now solved the problem, I shall only use it if I encounter more glitches. However, it is useful to have access to legacy versions if necessary.
