Hello to all that have been following this thread.

I've been doing some testing in MemoQ 9.4.8 to connect to Wordfast Server. Something seems not to be working.

Anybody else out there using the connector on MemoQ 9.4.8? The connector layout is pretty different than other ones. Does it work in this version of MemoQ?

Hello to all

Good news, I’m finished publishing a plugin in SDL 2019 for Wordfast Server! It’s free, enjoy it!
I also just published a tutorial on YouTube so you can set it up fast.
Just as a reminder, freelancers can use Wordfast Server for free in Demo Mode for up to 3 simultaneous connections.
For associations, agencies, LSPs etc. you can go up to infinite simultaneous connections depending on your needs and price plan.

I have contacted MemoQ support and it seems there is an issue with the Wordfast Server connector they made in this version. They are fixing it, so hopefully I'll get to play with it soon ;)

Hey there,
Great job. Given the WFS is so powerful and easy to administer, it is absolutely fantastic that such a connector exist. I have tested it today and it works like a charm (maybe think of the case of Workgroup ID being supported, even if Workgroup ID is rarely used on the WFS?), even with an encrypted TM on the server side.

I have received a xlf and tmx for translation, but I need to merge certain segments. I have already worked on the tmx and merged these segments, but in the xlf I can't merge anything. Split is not blocked. My PD has already unblocked the segments, but this has no effect.

Anyone?

I assume "PD" mean "project manager". Or do you mean TransPerfect's Project Director job management system?

Which version of WFP are you having trouble with? Do you use a version installed on your computer, or are you using a browser-based version?

Hi,
I Wordfast pro there is a concordance list at the bottom of the screen showing various entries from all active TMs that correspond to the given translation unit. How do I make WF insert an entry from a different TM than the one inserted automatically by the programme? Is there a shortkey to switch between those entries?

Hi everyone,
Every time I close WF in my Mac, it takes quite a few restarts for it to open again. This has been something that has been happening for quite a while, and I'm wondering:
1. If anyone has any suggestions on how to "fix" this or prevent this other than not closing the program.
2. Will Wordfast *ever* address this issue than that acknowledging its existence?

Hi Paula
many of us had this bug but I think it has been solved as it does not happen anymore with the most recent updates. I have v 5.16.1.

Hello,
Developers have been working on a solution to the crashing issue Mac users experience when opening and closing the application. They created a proof of concept (POC) for 5.13 that I used without any problems for the several months, then a 5.15 POC, and have now released an updated POC for 5.16. It allows you to work in heavyweight browser mode (required for CJK) and fixes the crashing issue. If you want to try it, you can get the link to download it in the Facebook Group called Wordfast Users.
Please note, moving from 5.13 to 5.16.1 will require you to update TMs and glossaries. They are updated automatically when you add them to a project or open a project with them attached. If you downgrade to 5.13, you will have to revert to the "_backup" TMs or glossaries that are automatically created during the update procedure. Furthermore, if you are working with packages, make sure everyone in the workflow is using the same version (either 5.13 or 5.16.1). Moving from 5.15 to 5.16 should not affect TMs and glossaries.

Hi Enora,

I see that, unfortunately, no one answered your question, so I want to know what have you done. I am going through the same (about to start working for TransPerfect, but I get along really well with MemoQ and do not want to buy another CAT tool right now...). Are you working for TransPerfect using MemoQ anyways or did you get a Wordfast license?

Hi Kátia,

As you noted, no one replied and so in doubt I did buy a Wordfast licence. However, now that I know a little more about about CAT tools I'm not sure it is possible to use MemoQ for Transperfect. Maybe you are already aware of this, but you'd have to download the translation memory in a TMX format (which I can't remember if you can do since I never gave it a go in the end), ie in a format that works for any translation tool and that your CAT tool then turns into its native format. And then to deliver the file, in Transperfect's project director you have to upload a glp file, which I'm not sure you can obtain from MemoQ. But I'm still relatively new to all this so it might be worth checking with more advanced users. There could be a way around it that I'm not aware of.

I use WF Pro 5 and have the up to date version on a PC running Windows 10 also up to date.
Yesterday and today I have noticed that the programme is substituting random different (totally unrelated) segments from the document I am working on in the translated field. I recognise the false segments as being from the same document but they are not even remotely related to the source text of that segment. When I correct them (by selecting the right translation from the TM window at the bottom) they are removed and the (same, as far as I can tell) wrong translation is subbed in again once the segment is out of view.
Anyone else having this ghostly and ghastly problem?

I don't believe these are autopropagated segments. This is after I've completed the translation and put the correct target text in. When I review the file I find that Wordfast has subsituted text which, while from the same document, is in no way related to the source text segment.
I first noticed this occurring after I clicked "Commit all", but in fact I later found that if I scrolled down from a corrected segment and then back up to it the same wrong text had been subbed in. I know this sounds like I'm making it up, but I'm not.
I am sorry I cannot share screenshots as the text is confidential.
(I should add I've been a happy Wordfast user for around 12 years now).

I kept on getting macro disabled messages every time I opened a Word document.
I tried deinstalling WFC and resinstalling it, but it says "deinstallation complete" and won't let me reinstall it.
When I try to use WFC by pressing ALT + DOWN ARROW in a document to translate, it opens a new blank document.

The settings in Word are "Disable all macros except digitally signed ones" and "Trust VBA".

How can I manually deinstall and reinstall WFC?

Would any body be able to help plse? Or tell me where to go to get help?
There used to be a Yahoo group for WFC help, but I don't think that's available anymore. Or is it?
