Hi John,

We have added a new feature segment state Translated which calculates progress in 5.12. So your older projects will show up as less % based on number of Exact and Context matches in file which automatically get Translated State.

So old files if you want to see Project as 100% open the project and select all to Chain Files. Then go to Translation tab and click on Mark All Translated. Then Save and Close the file.

Many thanks John. Understood and tried out on a small sample, pausing in the middle. It seems to work well. Have Release Notes moved somewhere else? I can only find 5.11.1 at the usual:

Hi John,
the key I use is correct. I'm also using it in another CAT tool without problems.

Before the update it worked correctly, so my guess is, that the latest WF update caused the problem.

It is a very alarming (perhaps poorly worded?) but why on Earth would anyone want Wordfast to record keystrokes? Does it still work if you hit "Deny"? I've just been ignoring the message ...

Here we are back to square one. I installed v5.12.0 on my Mac with OSX Mojave and WPR does not open. Again! I thought this bug had been solved, but apparently it has not.
Crash on closing may have been solved, no start on opening is back!
I edited the config.ini file as once instructed by John DR, to no avail.
My bad not caring about warnings! Disappointed!

P.S.: I copied the Wordfast.app (v5.11) from a backup to Applications on my iMac and WFP works again.

I was advised that one should not add the two lines to config.ini with this version. In fact, one of them is already there. Setting Browser Mode to Lightweight eliminated the only crashes I have had on two Macs with Catalina. If it won't open, you can't do this. The usual suggestions are (1) Try opening in Safe Mode, (2) Add another User to Users & Groups, open in that and try ... But I don't doubt you have tried both of these already. Probably best to stay with something that works and try 5.12.1 when it comes out.

I've just had a ticket closed without a proper response. Though my problems are not as severe as Gondola's, I am wondering what has happened to Wordfast, which used to give a really good, responsive hotline service. Where is Yasmin?

I am running 5.11.1 on Windows 10 and it is the buggiest version of WFP5 yet! I am due to renew my licence, but thanks to 5.11.1 (and the deterioration of Hotline response), my confidence in Wordfast is now really low.

Is anyone else thinking of transferring to another CAT tool for similar reasons?

There are several extensions available for browsers that allow you to select and copy individual columns in an HTML file in such ways that make it much more user-friendly than opening the HTML file in Word and trying to get rid of the superfluous content.

Unfortunately, that is too vague to be of any help to me. I wouldn't know where to begin looking.

However, after several unanswered communications to WF Feedback on this, I have finally been told that I can export Notes to Word from Project View, though this is not possible for some reason from the translation view. I've tried it and it works.

We do not record any keystrokes and it is a problem with several Java programs after Catalina upgrade starting to complain. As strong as the message is we are not recording any keystrokes or storing it or sending it to a server or cloud.

Here's the problem happening to NVIDIA graphics card software: [url removed] ~/i-upgraded-my-macos-to-10.15-catalina-and-i-am-getting-a-different-mouse

Here's the problem explained by JAVA developers scrambling to find solution and Apple remain silent on answering this issue: [url removed]

Our developers are still trying to find a solution on this new message added in Catalina.

I have answered to the Linux issue on what to do but I don't know why the message wasn't received.

The issue with Linux is you need to install the dependency libraries for Wordfast to open.

Depending on the flavor of Linux OS install:
‘sudo apt install libconf2-4’
or
‘sudo apt-get install –f’
or
‘yum install libX*’

Actually, I am working currently with selecting "Deny", but the problem is that the last update Ver 5.12 came with an old issue!

After closing Wordfast inside Mac OS, an issue was happening in the past that I do receive an error message "Wordfast Pro quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple." [Ignore] [Report..] [Reopen]

This error message was disappeared on the last two versions before 5.12.

Please could you help or put your explanation for the same?

Last two versions we ran Wordfast for macOS default on lightweight browser mode but it came with lot of Keyboard and Editor problems. So we switched it back to heavyweight mode as default and Crash on Close as known issue.

If you go don't like the crash message you can switch to lightweight mode by clicking Wordfast Icon and last suboption to switch to lightweight mode. Then restart the application. We're trying to fix the crash on close but so far we don't have solution to this problem.

I just wanted to say that I am experiencing the exact same issue. It gets worse when I use remote TMs.

Am I the only one who is unimpressed by Wordfast Pro 5.10.0? | Same problem

Wolfgang Schoene I do not agree with you. I have exactly the same issue Reed James describes (my PC settings are fine). The only software I run into problems with is Wordfast Pro 5.
