Post title: By design, but should be fine-tuned
Dear Pavel,
I have checked with our Wordfast Product Management, and I am summarising their response as follows:
The split is done for "blocks" instead of "segments", so when a user sets "Split after" 100 TUs, it splits the first 100 blocks with Block ID 0 to 99.
To know the block IDs, use the "TXML Context" tab in Wordfast Pro, or open the TXML file manually in a text editor. In the "TXML Context" tab, you can use Ctrl+F to find a portion of text, and then a mouseover will show a tooltip with the Block ID. Please note that Block ID starts with 0 while "Split after" starts with 1; so you need to add plus 1 to get the exact segment. Also, a block might include more than 1 segment.
This is a workaround for now. However, this needs to be changed, and currently we are checking with our developers to see how this can be fixed for future versions.
Many thanks for your invaluable feedback!
Kind regards,
Yasmin (WF)
