WFP3 will refuse to open any Word file that has tracked changes in it.
WFP4 will open the file, and create a TXLF file from it, but it'll look terrible, and after all your hard work, WFP4 will refuse to save the translated file in the original format.
My test file:
[img] [url removed] [/img]
What WFP3 says:
[img] [url removed] [/img]
What it looks like in WFP4:
[img] [url removed] [/img]
Trados 2015 appears to open the file, but then... just when you want to sigh from relief, you get:
[img] [url removed] [/img]
WFC will allow you to translate the file, with tracks intact, but if you edit a tracked change, your edit will not be tracked (and not be in the same colour as the track), and you have to translate comments manually.
OmegaT will actually allow you to translate the file (and create the target file with tracks intact), but you have to have hair on your teeth:
[img] [url removed] [/img]
