I have this problem too today. The error message to me was the following:

"Error while saving file
null"

I was working on a xls file. What I tried and worked was:

- first I've made a copy of the source document
- then I opened the copy on Wordfast and translated everything again with the TM I've already have from the previous translation
- then tried to save it as a translated file again and it finally worked.

Laborious but worked. :)
