Post title: Change usable memory
The current version (In Preferences | General | Appearance | Memory Preference) allows users to select the amount of memory used by WFP. I stumbled on it one day, and found it set to the lowest (256 MB) amount, probably the default. The problem is that the biggest option is a mere 1470 MB.
Also, just yesterday, I googled "Run Garbage Collector" after noticing the little garbage can in the status bar. Clicking on it does reduce the heap size indicated in the window next to it. However, the references found by Google state that the only sure way to reduce the heap size is to close and restart WFP (Note: what I found was not recent.)
